Austin Air Allergy Machine Jr. Review

This is the first time I've purchased an air purifier not based on the cadr, so I was a little nervous.But it is great.From day one, the air in my bedroom has smelled very fresh.In addition, I purchased this because of a potential mold problem in my apartment.Since using it, I have experienced less symptoms than before.I like it so much, I'm thinking of purchasing another one for my second floor because the old Hunter I have isn't sufficient.

I would recommend this air purifier to anyone, especially if you have allergies.The only reason I didn't give this a 5-star rating is because it is a little noisy on high (although for normal uses, it probably wouldn't need to always be run on high like I'm doing because of my mold problem).Also, you have to have some place out of the way to put it as it must be set 8 inches from the wall with the air output facing away from the wall.

It has been on the market for 20 years and it is still the best carpet shampoo solution out there. Bissell : 1200 SpotBot - Carpet Spot Cleaner Review

The Spot-Bot cleaner does a good job, for the most of the stains we had (2 Lab Dogs). We did run into a stain, which so far, the machine cannot completely remove. A bleach bottle tipped over and spilled about 1/2 of the contents on the carpet, and it left quite a stain, but not sure anything will totally clean that area. The only other negative on this machine is the price. At $199, this could be the most expensive cleaner in this class. When purchased, there were no reviews written at that time, so we could not compare with any other same style cleaners for price/value difference.

I purchased this unit a month ago after an extensive search for the "perfect" purifier at a good price. I went through the " I don't know about this brand blues" or " look at the price " comparing the others makes and models.
But I was sold when I called the company and talk to customer service after viewing the"you tube" presentation, they were honest and answered every question I had, I also like that I could return it no question ask if I didn't like it. The unit has more bang for the buck than any units I compared it to, and really their was no other unit that could match the combo of purification it has. Reliable T630 Enviromate Steam Cleaner with 11-Piece Accessory Kit Review

I have had problems with this machine ever since I purchased it. The machine didn't seem to be working properly when I received it. Called the company and they said it's just my imagination. Then the problem got worse. Had to send it to Canada at my expense. An element went on it. The repair was under warranty but I just ate the cost of shipping it to Canada to be fixed. Having the same problem again in less then a year and this time the Reliable company wanted me to pay a minimum of $60.00 for the repair and pay for shipping both ways. This was a $400.00 machine and they wanted me to pay (would be another $200.00 by the time the second ordeal would be done)all the expenses on a warranty/defective machine. I am very disappointed with the care they give their customers.Yeah they'll fix it but at your continued expense. Would not recommend a product from them.

Seems like a very good unit.. quiet air flow quite good but the only drawback that I can measure is the cost of the three ( 3 ) hepa filters at $24.95 each.. Maybe the filters are less somewhere other than Holmes.. can't seem to locate part no. HAPF600CS..

I recently bought a Proheat machine to clean my (I'm ashamed to say)filthy carpets. I liked the fact that it heats the water, has a powerful brush, and can apply Scotchagrd. When it arrived at my door I couldn't wait to get it out of the box and give it a try. I did take the time to read the manual based on advice from some other reviewers, but I was busy cleaning my carpet in no time. The water was so dirty- I had to save it to show my husband. Five months ago, I hesitantly purchased (directly from Amazon) the Euro-Pro Shark Steam Pocket Mop version with 2 heads and 4 microfiber pocket pads ... but I am SO glad I did. I LOVE this steam mop. I have TILE and WOOD floors throughout my house and they have been nearly impossible to keep clean (as evidenced by my kids' no-so-white sock bottoms). Anyway, I had been researching all of the various steam mops trying to find that "perfect" mop that would work miracles. I thought I had decided on one, but then (while flipping channels) saw the infomercial for this mop. It appeared to be EXACTLY what I was looking for. As with most infomercials, I was VERY skeptical that the product would REALLY do what it claimed to do. Luckily, I took the leap of faith, and purchased one from Amazon.com. I could not be happier with this mop. It REALLY does STEAM (alot) and get all of the gross built up dirt and grime off the floors.

I HATE cleaning floors! I'm more of a carpet person, so for me to say I love this product is absolutely amazing. I had a Hoover FloorMate (which I purchased 7 years ago), but it was ALOT of effort to clean up AFTER ... and it only had the brush scrubbers (so it didn't really WIPE the floors clean) AND it required the special Hoover cleaner (which I ruined mine by using Pine Sol ... which it specifically says not to use). Then I moved to the cheaper (although, not really after you buy all of the disposable pads and cleaner) Swiffer Wet Jet. It was ok for the quick clean-ups, IF my floor was already pretty much clean to begin with. But the Swiffer Wet Jet never CLEANED my floors. It was EXTREMELY frustrating to spend time and money cleaning and then STILL see the dirty sock bottoms (which meant the floors weren't really clean).

PLEASE NOTE: There are TWO (2) versions of the NEWER MODEL steam mop ... the PURPLE version has 2 heads (rectangle and triangle) with 5 PADS (2 rectangle, 2 triangle, 1 purple duster) and the SILVER/metallic version has 3 heads (XL rectangle, rectangle and triange) and 4 PADS (1 XL rectangle, 1 rectangle, 1 triangle, 1 purple duster). Both have the carpet glider. The XL kit, as well as extra PADS can all be purchased separately. I bought mine at Newegg.

The things I like about the Euro Pro Shark Steam Pocket Mop are ...
1. It has a LONG 30ft. cord so you are not constantly plugging and unplugging,
2. It has sturdy/thick microfiber machine washable/reusable TWO-SIDED pads (all of the stains don't come out, but they have held up VERY well to repeated washings),
3. It has a LARGE water tank, so you are not constantly re-filling the tank,
4. It has a SWIVEL head (3 different HEAD sizes/shapes) that FLIPS for two-sided cleaning,
5. It really STEAMS while cleaning and gets off the built on dirt,
6. It cleans WITHOUT any chemicals ... only tap water (I prefer using hot water),
7. It HEATS up quickly (under a minute ... although I usually let it heat for 5 minutes).

Things you should know ...
1. As with mopping, you need to vacuum or sweep BEFORE steam mopping (do this WHILE the mop is heating up).
2. Filling with hot water worked best for me.
3. PUMP/prime the mop about 10 times before you start mopping (this gets the STEAM really going).
4. Make sure you have AT LEAST 2 pads (4-sides of cleaning), especially if your floors are dirty.
5. Do NOT keep using the same pad side once it is dirty (so, check the bottom as you go) or your floors will not be cleaned and look streaky when they dry.
6. I don't *think* this mop actually gets hot enough to really sanitize (I'm not sure if any of them do), but I spray/squirt some vinegar on the floor as I go and mop over that and it seems to work.
7. The steam mop is made of hard plastic, so I'm not sure how well the handle itself is going to last over time with repeated pumpings, etc. I've noticed several reviewers commenting on a broken handle. I would say there is alot of truth in that ... since the manufacturer sells JUST the HANDLE for ~$30 as a "replacement part" on its website ... and I personally think that is an odd "replacement" part (so they must have ALOT of handles breaking). Still, I have not found anything else that does the job like this mop.

Overall, I am VERY HAPPY with this mop! Actually, don't mind (as much) cleaning the floors now ... since they do truly get clean!

Bissell 9200 Proheat 2X Upright Deep Cleaner Review

I've had two of them and I'm giving up and going back to the Hoover.The Bissell is easier to use, but the quality is just terrible!My first one died in a little over year (just out of warranty).It basically stopped spraying consistently.Since I liked how it worked, I thought I'd give them another chance.The second one did the same thing in less than a week!

Save your money and buy one of the cheaper Hoovers.It is a little more difficult to use (in terms of changing to the hand tool, pre-mixing solution, etc.) but the previous Hoover lasted 5 or 6 years!No more Bissell for me.

I love this product. Having children that crawl and play on the floor it's nice to feel that you are not exposing them to abrasive cleaners with bad chemicals.
I have not noticed any difference in performance between this and the hoover carpet shampoos.Before starting up the steam cleaner, I do recommend mixing a stronger solution in a glass and apply it as a spot treatment with a dish washing brush. Makes the process faster and easier.

Reliable 0.66 Gallon Steam Cleaners Review

I replaced a large boiler with this little unit...as the large boiler was really overkill for my needs. I was very concerned that the amount of steam would not be sufficient for my needs, and even though it does not give the amount of steam that my old boiler did, it works pretty good. I like the fact that it is 110V instead of 220V. It really is a nifty little gadget, and so far has met my needs. I do worry a bit about whether it will last. I will update this if I have any problems, but for now I give it a four star rating and would recommend it to people who need a small to medium volume of high pressure dry steam.

Austin Air Allergy Machine Review

I live in an apartment and a few months ago I got new neighbors in the apartment below. They smoke constantly and often have parties with 8-10 people in a tiny apartment all smoking all night. The building is old, the smoke comes through not only the ventilation system, but directly through the floors and fills my apartment with the disgusting stench of Environmental Tobacco Smoke (ETS). This unit saved me from having to move. It's that good.

The HEGA filter is particularly good at removing gas molecules and thus odors and ETS. I have allergies, but they're manageable - I bought this primarily for odor and ETS control and to that end, it works perfectly.

It's much quieter than I though possible for something that moves so much air. Even on the highest setting, I can easily sleep in the same room with it. Some may be more sensitive to noise, but it's much quieter than some IQAir models that I've heard. On the lowest setting, it's barely audible.

I keep the unit in a largish living room/dining room/kitchen area in my one bedroom apartment and it cleans the air effectively. When combined with the air circulation of my AC unit, it does a great job of filling the apartment with clean, smoke free air.

The filters are extremely effective and come with a five-year warranty. If you live in a particularly polluted environment and your filter doesn't last five years, Austin Air will give you a discount on a replacement filter proportional to the length of its life. The bonus is, it's for that AND every subsequent filter you purchase. The unit itself also comes with a five-year warranty. Austin Air seems really great about craftsmanship and customer service. They don't make a huge variety of products (like Honeywell or a lot of other electronics manufacturers that offer air cleaners), but what they do, they do right.

Haier HU335W Ultrasonic Cleaner Review

I read the 1st review of this item, and ordered the cleaner anyway, hoping for better results. Indeed my Haier machine works quite well. BUT...don't expect jewelry and coins to come out sparkling clean, like the pictures and the hype. Instead, think of the machine as a shortcut to a lot of scrubbing with a toothbrush. Earrings gunked up with hairspray were somewhat cleaner after a few cycles; but then after just a short scrub with a soft brush, they were as good as new! Same with diamond rings, etc. The cleaner helped greatly, but did not clean everything immaculately all by itself. The cleaner really gets into the nooks and crannies in watchbands, etc., but again, some follow-up is needed with a brush.
In my opinion, it is definately worth it's purchse price.

Koblenz P-2600 Commercial Floor and Carpet Shampoo/Polisher Review

I bought this to clean my tile floors.It does the job well, and the machine is heavy duty, no plastic parts to worry about breaking.You do have to keep up with cleaning up the dirty water as you go, I use another floor cleaner I have that sucks up the water to do this.If the floor has not been cleaned in a while you do have to go over it several times to get it clean. I have a lot of tile, probably around 2,000 square feet of it, and it does take hours to cover it all.If I had the choice, I would buy a commercial grade machine that will also suck up the dirty water, however they start around $700.

Koblenz P-2500 Floor Scrubber/Buffer Review

Pretty good, not great.

Pros: Good quality. Light. Easy to carry around the house. comes with heavy duty scrub brushes, shampoo brushes, and a couple buff pads. Two speeds, easy to assemble, does a good job with light workload. It's a bit too light to really dig deep, but it did do a great job on my tile floors.

Cons: No convenient way to stand it up with the brushes attached. You have to kind of lean it on something, which is a bit of a pain if you want alternate between scrubbing and mopping. Also, the handle to release water from the tank is on the front of the machine, so you have to take one of your hands off the handle and reach for it. This is difficult because you really need two hands on the handle while it's scrubbing. If you only hold on with one hand, the thing starts going crazy and can get out of control, so dispensing liquid becomes a bit of a juggling act. Quite honestly, it's much easier not to use the tank at all. Just dump a bunch of cleaner on the floor and go to town. All in all a good buy. Good for household cleaning. Not something you should expect to use for a business.

BJ Long's~ BJ Long's Pipe Cleaners~ Hard Bristole~ 3 Pack~ 44 Cleaners per Roll Review

I gave these cleaners by BJ Long a try and was favorably impressed.I normally use Bryn Mawr'swhich are good, but not always available.The BJ Long's Hard Bristole's are much stiffer than the Dill's Bristle.Neither though is as absorbent as the standard, nonbristle Dill's.

I use these cleaners primarily for cleaning my pipes but also for cleaning guns and working on large clock pieces.They hold up quite well and are an excellent tool.I am not overly thrilled as to the packaging of these particular pipe cleaners though; much preferring the nice cardboard envelopes that the Dill are sold in and even the paper envelopes the Bryn Maur are packaged. Having and handful of loose pipe cleaners is a bit of a pain.

There is a wee bit of a price difference with all these brands but so small that it is hardly worth mentioning.

Now buyers take note!These are NOT the pipe cleaners that are use for arts and crafts.Those are a completely different animal and should not be confused.The arts and crafts variety you can buy at the local hobby shop or places like Wally World are not meant for difficult cleaning tasks.You will end up with gobs of pink/yellow/red or what ever color of fluff stuck in your pipe stem which does neither you nor the pipe any good.

These are a good, serviceable cleaner and other than the packaging, I have no complaint what so ever.

NOTE:Not that I would know form personal experience, but I am told that if you fold these in half and try to clean your ears with them...it hurts.After feeling the stiffness of the bristle of these things I must agree.If you must do this, use the softer regular Dill's.Remember what your mom always told you..."never ever put anything in your ears larger than your elbow."

Koblenz The Cleaning Machine Floor Polisher 2-Speed - P820A Review

I have 200 sq feet of Italian tile flooring that took me 8 hours to hand scrub to get looking clean (cleaning the grout was especially troubling).After doing a lot of research, I realized this near-industrial tool was what I needed.

I also have an older dog that sometimes goes on the carpet.I used this machine with Koblenz Carpet Shampoo and Koblenz Deodorizer (2 different products) and the spots and urine odor are gone.Great tool for touch ups.

This machine is a SCRUBBER.It will lay down liquid for you and scrub for you, but it won't remove the liquid.For tile floors you'll have to mop up the liquid yourself.For carpets, you vacuum the cleaning residue.

I HIGHLY recommend this product.It is smartly engineered and manufactured to do a single type of job.It has a metal "chassis", brass bushings, and the reservior tank is made of sturdy plastic.I haven't had anything break, but if something does break, parts are available on line and should be easy to replace.

I really like the Koblenz shampoo and deodorizer, but the Koblenz hardsurface cleaner is unnecessary - Mr. Clean works as well or better than the hardsurface cleaner on my tile floors.My first attempt at cleaning the tile, I used the cleaner sparingly with the hard bristle brushes and didn't like the outcome.The second time I cleaned the tile I used the soft bristle bushes with a liberal amount of cleaner and the tile came out fantastic.So, if you get this machine, you might need to experiment before you're happy with the outcome.

We're a 2 person 2 cat 1 wheelchair household. We track in a lot of dirt and mud (especially with my wheelchair).After reading the reviews on the Hoover H3000 Floormate, (pros and con's) we decided to go up one step as the info on the box mentioned many things that would have made even the people giving negative reviews on the 3000 Floormate happy.There is a new grout cleaner attachment and hose/extension wand attachment for vacuming and wet cleaning that works great.We don't have much grout, just in our bathroom. We do have sealed hard wood floors through most of the house and either tile or vinyl in the rest.All we want is to keep it clean with minimum work.The idea of mopping the old fashioned way just seems outdated and it really doesn't get things clean when you put dirty water back onto the floor.This though was a splurge - meaning it isn't necessary to life, it's a convenience.

Wow, are we impressed! We expected the vacuum to not be powerful but it is! It picked up everything, cat food, people food, cat hair, dust bunnies, cat litter, you name it. Then, you simply dump the dry crud out of the bottom refuse tank and add water and cleaner to the top tank.Then just wet clean.It's a fantastic change from lugging around a mop and bucket of any kind.It gets our floors squeeky clean and shiny. We both have asthma and THIS enables us to clean more often.We run it on dry almost every day and on wet a couple times a week at least, aside from picking up spills.I can't tell you what a change this is. We've gone from barely keeping up with the floors to a "eat off the floors mama would be proud" type of clean. Best part is it only takes about 10 - 15 minutes to complete both the vacuum and wet cleaning.

Perfectionist alert - We left our italian marble floors, perfect grout etc for the maid in our mansion in Florida. (joking) If you want perfection with grout or anything it takes more than any machine normally, it takes a person with a toothbrush you pay to clean it.Do yourself a favor and do what my grandmother did for 20 years and use a solution of bleach and water and just pour it on it, it gets white in a minute with no scrubing.Of course, colored grout is a different matter.

No machine will be perfect. This though does the job you buy it for - to clean floors.It's great for everyday normal families and anyone who doesn't expect perfection.As for the review before this one that says the suction is bad and the brushes don't work, they must have bought a defective machine because this one works perfectly and cleans great. We're never going back to mopping with a mop and bucket again.

I had yellow stains inside my less than two year old washer... presumably rust, though I'm not sure... and was hesitant to use a rust remover for fear that it would eat away the finish.
